Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is an internet marketing model used by search engines where advertisers make bids on specific keyword search terms. The ads are displayed in a "sponsored listing" section of a given search engine following a search using an advertiser's purchased search terms. Advertisers are subsequently charged when users click on their display ad.
